    At my campus we ‘value diversity’. Retarded, since the entire philosophy of a ground of education should be to work toward the goal of the betterment of human society through teamwork; (less that involve: pork, stem cell research, evolution, same sex relationships, the mixing of milk and meat, empowerment of women etc,etc) but at least we’re ‘valuing’ our diversity.

    Obviously this has nothing to do with patronage or condescension.

    that’s really true! I work at a small college and they are obsessed with diversity–diversity of skin color, not of ideas, for they only hire liberals. Our brochures have many faces of “people of color” even though you can hardly find them on campus….good ol’ photoshop!

    I saw a hilarious reversal of this idea once. Where I live, there is a historically black college which, for whatever reason, feels the need to have one white person in every picture. It doesn’t help that it’s usually the same person.

    In the good old days we drew lots for every photo session the boss wanted. During my 50 years of hard labour I’ve been painted black 5 times, yellow 3 and although I’d rather be portrayed as myself, I do look attractive with a turban.

    I went to college in Ireland where there were very very few ethnic minorities so, as was customary, we elected one of the very few black guys to be the diversity officer. All going well until we asked him to make a speech at the Gay Lesbian Trans-gender annual bash. “I’ll have nothing to do with those %**&in’ wierdos” came his enlightened reply. Suggested we shopped him out of the prospectus

    “Ethnio diversity” is something that was conjured up by the mind control Zionist liberals of the 1960’s feminism and civil rights movements.
    Jewish hierarchy summized that the way to combat the dominance of white culture in America was to create the illusion that inclusion and equality were positive steps in man’s progress towards accepting and intergrating various cultures.
    They understood by watering down the white gene, over time the white culture would be weakened and would no longer pose a threat to the Jewish pursuit of clture domination in America.
    All the shile practising the EXACT OPPOSITE policies within their own culture. (Marrying within their own race, ethnic cleansing in Israel, racist policies of separate development in the occupied territories etc)

    “Podunk” should be somewhere in Connecticut. It was the name given to a tribe of Natives way back when (1600s, I believe) by some white people.

    According to all the commenters… I must attend one of the only ethnically diverse universities in the world.

    Some of you people might consider attending different universities if this bothers you so much. From what I can see these minorities are brilliant humans much like everyone else.

    Also, you may consider switching your majors from Journalism to something with a bit more mental ability necessary. I think this would help you effectively handle thinking in real world situations.

    Anyone else think that scholarships should be open to everybody, regardless of ethnic background or gender? I mean, isn’t that essentially promoting discrimination? Seriously, if you can write the essay, paint the picture, build the whatever, etc and be the best at it, does it REALLY matter what your background is? Maybe limit it to your major since, unlike gender or ethnicity, a major can be chosen. (I don’t use the word “race” since there’s really only one. Human. Think Star Trek; there’s the Vulcan race, the Klingon race, the HUMAN race, yes Im a damn nerd) The only exception I would make as far as backgrounds go (in the USA anyway) would be Native Americans. They should get to go to school for fucking free. But that’s just me. And no Im not Native American lol. I think scholarships for different backgrounds was a good idea back in the day (whole equal rights thing) but i think its backfired on itself a bit.

    Oh and one more thing… just get a fucking torrent for Photoshop! Bwahahahahaaha!

    Diversity is overrated. When you get a minority student, there is a 95% chance they are liberals (just look at the 2008 election demographics). What is diverse about that? I would rather have students who actually think than those who vote simply by race.
