Actually, if you look at the barbed wire on the fence, it hangs over on the left hand side, the side with the cars. The barbed wire is much more effective on the side that it hangs over, as there is no easy way to get on top of it, and assuming that we put the fence there to keep the Mexican side from crossing, then the Mexicans must have driven.

If I remember correctly, this was one of several games between county workers in the US and city workers in Naco, Sonora. The year of this photo, I think Mexico won. These were fabulous days when the fence was a mere formality and there was genuine affection among people on both sides of the border.

Careful observer is right about which side the barbed wire hangs over on, the one with the cars, the US side. That is because the US can not have its fence, or its parts on the Mexican side. Just like the steel bars that we installed in the underground drain between Nogales Az and Nogales Sonora. It turns out it is on the Mexican side and we had to remove it. This became an issue after the drain became plugged with debris because of the bars that were secretly installed. They clogged the channel resulting in an explosion of concrete fueled by the water pressure that flooded both towns causing millions of dollars in damage. Not to mention the dead bodies trapped between the water and the bars.

If you are concerned about Mexicans crossing the boarder and taking all of our “jobs” then continue reading.
Take into consideration that the jobs that immigrants get (illegal, or not) are usually the ones no American would be willing to do; they require way too much damn work. Now, even with that said, I’m sure some people are still concerned about illegal immigration, and believe that it actually hurts the American Economy.
So I want you to consider this also, if you are one of those people. They come here for better opportunities, just like we came here in the beginning. At one time everyone in America was an immigrant. Now, we think we actually own this place. I also want you to take into consideration the true problem with jobs in America. And that problem would be outsourcing. Yes that’s right, most American companies now set up factories in foreign countries, i.e. China, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Indonesia. The reason being is cheap labor, and cheap materials. These materials are of low quality of course. So the true problem is the companies moving out of America and into other countries, to drive their cost of production down, only to increase their profits, not to benefit the individual. So it’s not the immigrants from Mexico that anyone needs to worry about, it’s the American immigration to Asia that we should try to end.

The volleyball court lies across the road. In Mexico and the USA we drive on the right side. It stands to reason, regardless of which side is Mexico, that the cars would all have stopped short of the track to park. This means that cars on the right side of the picture would be just behind the camera. N’est pas?
And for the racists trolls: There’s no country in the world that hasn’t been taken over by immigrants at one point or another. It started to happen here in the US over 500 years ago back when America wasn’t called “America”. You know, back when we took thousands upon thousands of innocent lives for their land. this picture was not intended to be a quiz about which side is Mexico and which side is the US, this image shows us how something that separates us could also bring us together. Anyone can think anything about this but the haters are not looking at the whole picture. Nor every mexican is illiterate and lazy nor every american is smart and rich. Mexicans don’t cross the border to invade or to pillage your job opportunities, they do it because Mexico is a troubled country that offers so little to so many, what most americans think about mexicans is comparable to what most mexicans think about americans. But both sides should be able to take away their resents and remember that we have a common history and will face a common future in one way or another

For all the people that are bashing people that are upset with how weak American immigration laws are they should really look around the world!! America is not the only place where there are immigration laws…maybe we should use Mexico immigration laws against them many of which is 10x more serious than The United States. Also, if you look at Eurpoe they are having the same issues with immigrants coming from Africa as we are from Mexico. mexico may be on the left, and united states on the right, but take a moment and think about the way the sun is facing.
it could either be sunset or sunrise, by the quality of the light.
it appears though that the light from the sun is coming from the east….doesn’t the sun rise in the east?
if each country were on the sides stated above….wouldn’t that make it so this game was played sometime around sunrise? kind of an odd time to play volleyball, don’t you think?
if however it was united states on the left and mexico on the right, the time of the game would have been sometime around sunset…and more logically so.
